In June of 2025 I took my first trip to visit Salem, Massachusetts, nicknamed the Witch City. For the modern witch, there is so much to see and do that it is simply impossible to do it all in one day, much less two, much less a week. I’m quite sure that you can continue visiting Salem and stumbling on new sites, new shops, and new tours. I fell in love with the Witch City immediately and wanted to give you a quick guide for going to Salem in case you are thinking about it. Now, if you are more new age but your partner is not, don’t worry, there’s plenty for the witch and the non-witch to do. The old architecture is stunning. This town takes pride in its history, not only educating others but maintaining the historical look on the homes. Many homes throughout Danvers and downtown Salem will have small white plaques on what the house was originally in the 1700s or 1800s and who it belonged to. From New England salt box to giant neo classical gingerbread architecture, the business buildings and some homes look like they are frozen in time. You can visit filming sites from movies like Hocus Pocus, and tour around Salem, Danvers, and Marblehead if you have a few days to spare. There’s much to do and the locals will actually suggest great things to you also. I found the town to be progressive, friendly, and a place I’m going to visit over and over. I don’t think I’ll be able to get enough of it. Parking tips are below, as are every point of my trip which I’m constantly uploading as Salem is a place I would grow to love and visit repeatedly.
The shops, and the sights and the tours (both free self-guided and paid) are just enjoyable whether you are a witch or not! Enjoy the following topics and connect with me to tell me about your trip to Salem! Check back as I’ll be uploading lots of information!
