Witch Shops in Salem, Massachusetts

If you want to know about the Witchy shops in Salem, Massachusetts? No worries. I’ll be posting all they have to offer. Now, a word of caution, visiting Salem in a day, or two, may not even allow you to visit all the shops, in fact, after two days I was already planning my next trip. My initial trip was on a Wednesday and Thursday in June, but some of the shops were closed on Wednesday, and some closed early (6pm). I assume their busy times are Friday through Sunday. The locals tell me in October, everything is open pretty much all month, as it’s their most visited time of year. The city is loaded with shops both inside Salem central downtown (the main street and focal point for us was Essex Street) but many can be found scattered off the beaten path. Please check out the guide to parking before you go! Below are some of the shops we visited and what they had to offer. I’m sure I’ll be adding more periodically, so please stop back.

We visited on a Wednesday, and the shop was open. Our first impression was immediately being greeted by the friendliest two salespeople we met all day in Salem. These guys were not only helpful, but super knowledgeable about the shop and its supplies. Inside you will find a plethora of herbs, books, spell kits, crystals, candles, poppets, incense decor, and magickal items. There are two spell altars of which you are encouraged to leave a name for someone who may need a blessing (did that), and one for messages to send to your passed on relatives. Live readers sit behind curtains and are ready to do your readings. Some have been featured on TV shows and are reputable readers and psychics.

The good thing about this store is it encompasses all sorts of magic. From a pendant that shows your Egyptian sign to vials of herbs for modern day use, books that encompass everything from voodoo, to wicca, or green witchery, so no matter what “kind of witchy person” you are, this place is for you. I did not come out empty handed. I purchased some incense, a poppet, and some herbs to put in the poppet. I liked the fact that this shop is geared towards the witch, and not so much Salem souvenirs. I loved the vibe and have to say that it’s probably my top shop that I’ve visited. It’s owned by witchy warlock Christian Day and hubby Brian Cain, who also owns a shop in Louisiana and run Hex Fest. A book Christian wrote is featured in the shop’s book section. I also made a TiikTok about this shop here.

Witch Shop Stop #2 Crow Haven Corner 125 Essex Street, Salem

This shop had me at hello. It’s the oldest witch shop in Salem. It’s not hard to find as it’s black and purple colors give it a witchy vibe. The shop is run by Lorelei who seems to have nailed the apple love spell. She’s been on the Bachelorette. Walking in the house you have a small shop filled with crystals, candles, incense, and witchy things — and also a small area dedicated to items that when sold, raise money for the animals of Salem.

The self-professed pet lover in me just had to do that, so I purchased a tank top that featured “the familiars” on it and proceeds went to help the pets of Salem. The shop is cozy, and they are so friendly. I was told the top of the home is an air B-n-B and you can find out more information on their website.

Now, modern witches who need supplies such as bulk herbs, have got to visit the next shop: Artemisia Botanicals!

Witch Shop Stop #3 Artemisia Botanicals 3 Hawthorne Boulevard, Salem

My primary reason for stopping here was the fact that is’ probably the largest shop for herbs and botanicals in the entire city. Jars line the walls and you can find bulk herbs and spices for whatever you need. I also bought some delicious Frankincense and Myrrh incense, of which I usually burn the resin at home, but the sticks are so much easier. and uber hard to find. A pack of sticks was $24.95 but worth it. My home was smelling lovely shortly after getting home. Their website indicates they do tea leaf and other readings as well, but my reason for stopping in was looking for a specific healing lotion for my husband’s arthritis. I walked out with the perfect topical lotion. From rosebuds to cinnamon, you can get what herbs you need easily for spells, tea, or altar work. I also saw Essiac tea, which is hard to source and my husband has used it in the past for a supplement when he was battling cancer. If you visit the Salem Witch Museum, this shop is in close proximity.

I’ll be adding more on my next trip, so do check back!
